okay, i just put my new parakeet Jasmin in my old parakeet's, Ariel, cage. It is a 15 gallon with an Eheim Ecco 2330 canister filter, Hydor 200 watt in-line heater and a Hydor Nrg Green Co2 system, 2 24 watt T5 bulbs, 6700k. The substrate is 3" of Eco complete. Plants are Rotala Indica, Ludwigia Repens, Dwarf Hairgr, Micro Chainsword and Dwarf Baby Tears. One piece of Mopani wood, presoaked for 3 months. Water is Arcadia bottled water, pH is 7.2, kH is 6.0, gH is 10. I dose with .8 ML Seachem Flourish twice a week. Phosphates are 0 ppm, nitrite is 0 ppm, nitrate is 5 ppm. The plants are growing well but the problem is ammonia. It's at 6 ppm! I have absolutely no idea where this ammonia is coming from since nothing I've added to the tank should be producing any. Before adding to the tank the water tests 0 ppm for ammonia. Any ideas where this ammonia is coming from?

Hello all. I purchased a Tetra Heater from Wal-Mart to heat up a plastic rubbermiad container I have some tadpoles in now. It is supposed to heat up to 78.6 degrees within 7 hours, and the first one didn't (read 66) so I returned it and got another. Still says 66. There is just a oxygen bubbler in there and maybe 15 gallons of water(the heater is rated for up to 30 gallons and 100 watts) but the water feels warmer than 66. Do you think the plastic is causing it to not read the correct temp??

right this is quite complicated so bare with me. i am a 16 year old boy and I have just recently left school and it is now completely finished. Hi, I just bought a Teddy Bear hamster yesterday (7-18-2010) She is a carmel brown and white, she is SO cute!!! My one month old daughter was diagnosed with reflux this week. The DR gave her a script for zantac, and it seems to help a little. You may have mono.... I'm not a doctor of course, but I had it once. My lymph nodes in my neck were swollen... you get really tired with mono... it's not always about sleeping either, you just feel like you can't do anything. It hurt to move even my eyes (but that may not be your symptom). One thing you should try to do is to look in a mirror, open your mouth as wide as you can an then try to see if there are any white spots in your throat. You could also just have strep. Mono and strep have similar symptoms, but the lethargy is mostly ociated with mono. I also lost about 25 pounds when I had mono because I also couldn't eat. Drink lots of liquids and sleep when you can. Don't over-do activities.

Given the questions we see here, and especially the incorrect answers from people who obviously believe they are right, there has been a very significant drop in writing and grammar skills. The causes are less clear. Obviously, usage like u and ur has become common because of texting, but the simple ignorance must have a different cause. (Consider the person who asked this week whether "alot" or "allot" was the correct way to write "a lot.") That is more likely to be because of lower teaching standards, or dependence on spell checking.

Why don't I feel sorrow about my Grandfather's death?

It has been 7 months since he ped away. When I think of his death, I don't feel saddened. I literally feel nothing. I can't think about his death for more than a couple minutes because it's like I can't concentrate on it. I remember everything about the night that he died, and his funeral. But I don't feel saddened. I cried the day he died, and another day a couple months after he died, but that's it. When my other Grandfather died 3 years before, I cried like a ******* baby. I feel weird that I'm not feeling emotion over this, what's going on? Is this normal?

4 month old waking every hour!?

My son will be 4 months next week. When he turned 3 months he started to wake up quite a few times during the night. Before he used to sleep for 6-8 hours a night. Last night (and he's done this other nights too) he woke up EVERY hour. I try to calm him by rocking him or patting him but it doesn't do anything. Instead he cries more (though his eyes are closed). The only thing to get him back to sleep is to nurse him. So I'm literally nursing him every hour. I'm sure he's not actually eating each time but that's the only thing that seems to get him back to sleep. The pacifier just doesn't get it. I'm back at work so this is really tiring and I need a solution for getting him to sleep throughout the night. He is a co-sleeper and I'm not sure if this is the problem but I need to know of any solutions out there. Also trying to let him "cry it out" doesn't work, he'll just cry harder and longer...TRUST ME!

I doubt there is one. In medieval times, just about the only people who could read were monks and scribes - and I doubt that a single one of them was a woman. There was no need to make a cookbook or to write down recipes from that time because women were the cooks and the cooks were not the rich women who might be able to read well enough to run their home if necessary. All recipes form those times would have been ped down by word of mouth and any and all of the good recipes (not the fish jelly and stewed brains) ARE already in cookbooks, but because the dishes are still popular and we eat them all the time, you just don't recognize them as such. Besides, a lot of the cooking back them was simply roasting a large chunk of meat over the fire.

I was getting very winded with very little exertion, and I began to notice a strange sound almost like snoring, but more raspy when I would get tired. Also, when lying down, my breathing would sound weird at times. Then, I got a cough, not frequent, but bad enough for people to comment on it. Now, I feel at times like I can't breathe deeply. My son was sick last months with chest pain, an uncontrollable cough, and what they determined in the ER to be a viral bronchitis when it seemed to be getting no better after two weeks. I am a current teen. I have always been "different" (not normal, not the average Joe) and now have become depressed but not quite yet suicidal in my quest to fit in. For example: Most times i will be talking with someone and argue their point. They will start yelling at me for arguing their point with some argument that make no sense to them. Really this argument is quite sensible because i was able to process all the information required. My evaluation test scores are high (not in school), but it doesn't show in my school work. This is another contributing factor to everything that I am going through. Other than that, I have been bullied (which is quite severe by the way) and have always been pushed around like I'm completely worthless. I also have issues in my family right now which I would not like to go into detail about. I have also come from a family with hereditary depression (although it has not affected my parents), and have a good heart. I am a faithful Christian. The Bible basically says that heaven is a billion times better than life on earth. Yeah, my life sucks so bad that if you were to take that billion and take it up to the 32nd power, the end result (which is 1 x 10 to the 288th) would be slightly below how much better heaven is for my life. So yeah i need to find a good counseling place... would like a place with teenage confidentiality.

Brake lights on 89 plymouth sundance?

The brake lights only are dim on the 89 plym.-its not the bulb. The rear window brake light works fine-there is a trailer hitch on the car, but it doesnt look like there were any kind of lights hooked on to it. Now we have to get it fixed to be in compliance but where to start? When the headlights are off and you step on the brake just the tail lights come on, not the brake lights just the tail lights-but when the headlights are on and you step on the brakes the tail lights go out-with no brake lights on either side.
